I CAN and will do my part to change the way I consume... I CAN be more conscious of buying food in bulk from the coop (i.e. using my own containers: mostly glass). I CAN bring my lunch to work with me everyday. (in a re-usable container) I CAN buy less soda and more local beer. I CAN eat for nourishment and not for fun. I CAN extend my growing season with high tunnels and hoophouses to provide produce for a longer period. I CAN go to the farmers' market more often and eat more local produce. I CAN grow and buy local organic foods for my family! I CAN have an awesome garden and rely less on the grocery store! I CAN learn how to can foods in season to be eaten all winter. I CAN make an effort to feed my child local, fresh food. I CAN. ('nuff said.) :) I CAN nurture the land as I nurture myself, as we nurture ourselves! Grow food everywhere! I CAN pick produce, freeze it, and use it in the off-season. I CAN plant a garden and share the bounty with my neighbors. I CAN put my 1000s of mason jars to use! I CAN raise my own chickens (if I can convince my fiance). I CAN replace my sugar in my tea and coffee with local honey. (1 tablespoon of honey = 5 tablespoons of white refined sugar) I CAN ride my bike and cook and buy food from the co-op and plant my damn garden already! I CAN share a farm CSA with a friend. I CAN shop at a local farmers' market and host a local food potluck. I CAN sing I can dance and buy food in bulk and pay more and eat less. I CAN spend a year interning on a farm to learn how to use natural pest defenses and all other tidbits that can be absorbed. I CAN start a garden and buy local foods. I CAN think differently. I CAN try to buy more food at my coop! I love the exhibit! I CAN work towards changing codes, to get chickens legalized in the city, so we can all have fresh/super local eggs! |
